In Memoriam of Jim Harrison

It is with great sadness that we share with you that our dear friend and co-worker Jim Harrison passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016.

Jim was the former Director of the NEDP and instrumental in the transition of the NEDP to CASAS. He worked at CASAS from 2003 – 2013 in areas of state and national policy development, coordinating a national content standards project, the NEDP, and establishing a Curriculum and Training Leadership Institute in Singapore. Prior to his work at CASAS, Jim served as the unit coordinator and education consultant for the Connecticut Department of Education for 20 years. While there, he developed expertise in policy development, program design, program improvement initiatives, forming interagency partnerships, fiscal management, assessment, and data management. His passion and commitment to adult education and literacy was consistently evident in all his endeavors.

Jim was a treasured friend and a mentor to so many of us. We will all miss him dearly.
