Blended Learning Programs Thrive Despite Budget Cuts

A recent report from OTAN demonstrates that adult ESL learners enrolled in distance learning blended programs have significantly higher completion and persistence rates and reading gains than students participating in distance-only or classroom-only programs.

Blended learning models that combine distance learning and classroom learning models are gaining momentum in adult education programs statewide, and the results are encouraging: The most recent Distance Learning Report from OTAN—which includes data provided by CASAS— demonstrates that adult ESL learners enrolled in blended programs have significantly higher completion and persistence rates and reading gains than students participating in distance-only or classroom-only programs.
