Postsecondary Placement Study

The purpose of these studies is to support the successful transition of adult learners from adult education programs to postsecondary education.

Postsecondary Placement Study I

This study seeks to help transition adult learners enrolled in ABE, ESL, and ASE programs funded through the Workforce Investment Act, Title II, into postsecondary non-credit education programs. This study will analyze the performance of a cohort of this population as they transition into postsecondary education and training. Adult education learners participating in the study include both native and non-native speakers of English and represent the diverse learners served in the WIA II programs in participating states.

Postsecondary Placement Study II

This study seeks to determine the role of CASAS reading, writing, and math assessments in supporting the transition of adult learners from adult education programs to postsecondary education. Adult education learners participating in the study include both native and non-native speakers of English and represent the diverse learners served in community colleges. The study will verify the CASAS reading, writing, and math scale score ranges of learners already enrolled in post-secondary education, from levels of developmental education to transferable college credit courses.
