Vallejo Adult School Helps Students Succeed in the Workforce

"Any way you look at it, these are difficult times for job seekers. Jobs are few and far between. Employers demand a wider range of skills. And many of the agencies that used to teach basic skills and job training are shutting down their programs due to lack of funding.

There’s a ray of light, however, at Vallejo Adult School, where teachers recognized a need to make education relevant to their students and found a way to blend workplace skills with basic academic skills. The new CASAS Workforce Skills Certification System (WSCS) and Workplace Adult Basic Education (WABE) programs are specifically designed to help students succeed in today’s workplace."
