CASAS Assessments Approved for NRS

CASAS is proud to have a wide variety of assessments approved for Measuring Educational Gain in the National Reporting System for Adult Education for both ABE and ESL programs.

Note: Locator and Appraisal tests - used to determine the correct pre-test level - do not require approval. Locator/appraisal test results are not used for NRS reporting.

The results of the review process were updated on February 5, 2018, in the Federal Register FR Doc 2018-02237 and on December 12, 2016, in the Federal Register FR Doc. 2016-29899.

The September 7 Federal Register clarifies that the December 2016 notice remains effective until June 30, 2019.

The NRS Test Benchmarks for Educational Functioning Levels (EFL) updated March 2019 are posted here.

The September 21, 2018 Federal register extends tests approved for ESL reporting through February 2, 2021.
