As an immigrant from Germany, Claudia never thought that she could earn her high school diploma. After arriving in the United States, the eventual arrival of her permanent resident card coincided with starting to raise her own family. Years later, once she had a little time to herself, she decided to follow her dream of furthering her education.

Her passion about animals lead to her curiosity about working in a veterinary hospital, but the execution of this dream escaped her. It had to begin with her earning her high school diploma. Claudia overcame her fears of returning to school. She researched programs and quickly registered at her local adult school. Although it was scary, she realized it was the “only option to fulfilling my dream.” As a non-native English speaker, there were times when she had a little difficulty understanding, and there were even words she had never heard before. But she put heart and soul into it because she had a goal.

Claudia demonstrated her strong determination at every weekly session. She was prepared for and attended every scheduled meeting. Her committed efforts were recognized as she received an agency award for outstanding academic achievement and selfless community service.

Through her fierce determination and strong work ethic she epitomizes what the NEDP strives to accomplish with each and every client.

We wish Claudia strength and confidence as she begins Manchester Community College and starts the veterinary assistant program. We are proud to be able to support your educational dreams and goals.
