Summer Institute Lab Pass

Summer Institute LabsNew this year is the CASAS National Summer Institute Lab Pass that allows pass holders access to any of the technology labs offered throughout the Institute. Our Lab Pass offers freedom, flexibility, and more options than ever

Unlike previous years, no pre-registration or individual lab purchases will be required. Passholders will show their wristbands and scan in with their name badge. While seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis, we will offer some of our highly attended sessions on Monday afternoon to those who can arrive early.

In addition, only Lab Pass holders will have access to Thursday afternoon Bonus Sessions from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Think of these sessions as Office Hours led by our Tech Support staff who focus on three common program-year transition issues: (i) User Access for Portals, (ii) Class Replication, and (iii) Transitioning your testing sessions to the new program year. Come with questions on these topics and leave with your TOPSpro Enterprise ready to go for the new year!

To view a full list of tech labs offered, see the Technology Lab Information and Descriptions document below. Times and descriptions also can be found in the Summer Institute registration section of the CASAS website.

Getting and Using Your Lab Pass at the Institute

  1. First, check in to the Institute and get your name badge in the registration area.
  2. Next, get your daily wristband at the designated Lab Pass table. Each day, a different color wristband will be available. We recommend picking up your pass during breakfast each morning. A photo ID will be required to pick up your wristband.
  3. Arrive early at your desired lab, as they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  4. Early arrivers can be put onto an “accepted list.” Important: Those on the “accepted list” will have five minutes after the session start time to claim their spot. If not, their seat will be released to another person on the waiting list.
  5. When the room is available to enter, show your wristband and scan into your session.
  6. Participants can be added to a waitlist even if the session is full. After five minutes, available seats will be given to those, in order, on the waitlist.

We expect Tuesday and Wednesday morning sessions to be busier than others, so plan accordingly!
