CASAS is pleased to announce a NEW Life and Work Listening 980 series (Forms 981-986) that is approved for NRS reporting purposes through June 30, 2015. CASAS is working closely with the U.S. Department of Education Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) [formerly the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE)] to extend approval beyond this date.

The Life and Work Listening 980 series is available in CASAS eTests Online. The CD-delivered version that includes picture prompt test booklets for Level A will be available in June 2014, as will the desktop version in CASAS eTests.

The Life and Work Listening 80 series (Forms 81-86) will continue to be offered by CASAS and is available in CASAS eTests and in a CD-delivered format. Please note that the 80 series is not approved for NRS reporting.

Both the 980 series and the 80 series are listening comprehension series that monitor the progress of your ESL/ELL/VESL students through pre- and post-testing. These competency-based series help to identify the listening skills that your English language students need as you prepare them to function successfully in today's society.
